Ronald Reagan National Airport, Washington, DC
Nope, we weren’t photographing anyone famous. I was a member of a “photo safari” that allowed us to photograph the interior of the airport. This particular site was an exercise in capturing the leading lines and repeating architecture of this terminal walkway. I decided the shot would be much more fun and interesting by capturing the other photographers and the movement of the approaching travelers. Was I right?
Absolutely! 🙂

You are right. Your image is so iteresting, and you captured the expectation of the photographers.
So … how did you find a “photo safari”?

Thanks, Laurie! As for the photo safari, all kinds of cool photo ops are offered by Washington Photo Safari, a business I came across a few years ago. I had been waiting for this airport safari for over a year and was finally able to make it. It was so worth waiting for!

Thanks, Marsha! I’ve had my eye on this particular safari for a while. I always missed it for one reason or another this past year. It was well worth the wait!

Thanks, Laura! Once again, you’ve picked up on another nuance in one of my photos that I missed – the arrows. I love how you “see,” Laura. Thanks!

Right decision! Interesting and engaging. Reminds me of the work of the US photographer George Zimbel.

Oh absolutely! It wouldn’t be half as interesting a photo otherwise. There’s a feeling of expectation in the image.
