That was the morning you and I had a short-lived meet-up with Joe, Patti. This scene was my “reward” for beating you guys to the Square ๐ Thanks for liking it!
Great shot, Stacy. NYC early in the AM can be remarkably devoid of humanity, especially on a Sunday morning. I have an image from almost the same spot, well after dark, in the winter, when it was raining, and it was still pretty crowded. But if one gets up early, it can be very rewarding as you have shown.
I can imagine your shot, and it looks wonderful in my mind’s eye! No matter the time of day or night, crowded or quiet, Times Square never ceases to amaze. Thanks, Robin.
Hey, Pauline ๐ I definitely did sit for a bit and enjoy the unfolding scene, but never thought to follow it up. Guess I just have to go back and try again!
Such a difference from the neon glare in the evening. Don’t get me wrong – I love that too – but this was something magical to experience! Thanks, Raewyn ๐
The “no people” thing coupled with the red tables reminded me of one of my favorite songs from Les Mis – “Empty Chairs and Empty Tables.” Just had to get that shot ๐ Thanks!
Stacy! I want to be there! Such a fun shot!
( did I include enough exclamation points for you? ๐ )

Even with all the surrounding colors, those red tables just cried out to be photographed ๐ Thanks for commenting, Janina!

I dig the neon reflection on the pavement and on the tables and chairs. Good capture!

I’ve never seen it so clean. What did they do, wash down the streets? Beautiful.

I actually was there that early to meet Joe and Patti that morning! I arrived first – early bird catches the worm, and all that ๐ Thanks, Emilio.
