Amazing. I feel so calm after watch this beautiful picture of sunset. I really love it. I will try my best to fulfill my life with nature.
Thanks, Cybele! Isn’t that ship just a kick? The group seemed to be having a fun time too ๐ I spent a wonderful few hours waiting for the sunset and got the unexpected (for me) added bonus of that crazy fog. It eerily crept in over the hills and swallowed up the bridge before eventually dissipating. Unbelievable!
I was in awe watching the scene unfold! I spent an hour waiting just for the sunset, and when the fog began to roll in, I was in heaven. Such an amazing sight! Thanks for your kind comment.
Oh wow, wow, wow… what a shot…. I,ve been over that bridge driving and cursing in the wind, rain and fog but never have I seen such a beautiful picture as that with the fog cascading down like a waterfall. Love it ๐
Kaz, I have seen some absolutely jaw-dropping long-exposure photos taken from a vantage point above the city of the fog literally blanketing the bridge and the city, with just the tops of the spans visible. Oh, how that would have been glorious to shoot! I wish I had had more experience behind the lens, as now I would have shot a panorama and stitched the images together to get the full view. Guess I’ll just have to go back ๐
LOL! Weird, isn’t it? And why in San Francisco Bay? I mean, is there an historical reference for it? I should look that up ๐
By the way, you just reminded me that I visited your newest post on the community garden today and got interrupted before I could leave a comment. I will go and fix that!
It was the trifecta for me – my favorite bridge, fog, and a beautiful sunset. It doesn’t get much better than that ๐ Thanks so much for your kind words!
Spoken like a sailor, Chris ๐ It was so amazing to watch it roll in! At one point, all but the very top of each span was cloaked in fog. Surreal. I just remember smiling and saying “oh, wow” a lot as I witnessed it happening. Thanks!
My only regret is that I didn’t think to take a pano ๐ฆ But I had never done one before, so it didn’t cross my mind. That’s now changed; guess I’ll just have to go back ๐ Thanks for your kind comment!
I really love it until I reblog it ๐ Keep it up ๐

Stunning. But what in blue blazes is the gaff-rigged barge thing? Never seen anything quite like it…

Finally looked it up. It’s a scow, which was rigged like a schooner and apparently sails the Bay every sailing season. May be called the Alma http://www.nps.gov/safr/learn/historyculture/alma-history.htm
