Lavender in Provence

Purple lavender fields in front of a stone wall at the Abbey.

Lavender in full bloom welcomes visitors to the Abbey.

Little did I know when my family traveled to the Luberon Valley in July 2010 that we would be arriving in peak lavender season. The lush fields surrounding the Sénanque Abbey in Provence are perhaps one of the most photographed lavender shots in Provence. Breathtaking!

    • Wow, you’ve looked at my very first photo I posted, Sallyann 🙂 It WAS a gorgeous scene, but I’ve learned so much since taking it that I would love to have the opportunity to revisit and really do the scene justice! Thanks for your lovely comment.
