The story behind Visual Venturing? Simple. I love photography; I love writing; I love desktop publishing. Perfect mix of passions for creating a photoblog. Admittedly, a totally self-indulgent project. Nothing to set this one apart from all the phenomenal photoblogs that exist. But for others like me — those who enjoy the opportunity to “see” more places, more people, more things, more of life — it’s always fun to view one more, because you never know what gems you might discover. Really, that’s it.
The story behind me? Click on my photo to the right for a few more details. Or visit my post Behind the Scenes at Visual Venturing.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m honored. And if you enjoy seeing the world through my lens, follow along. I’d love to have the company!

Hi Stacey – I so enjoyed looking at your photos (and descriptions). I like that you usually just present one picture, instead of an overwhelming amount in one post. Keep it simple, yet present a powerful image. Great that you get a chance to travel a lot, that always helps with fresh, new images (in my mind).

Annette, I’ve just left a rather long-winded comment on your wonderful blog, ending with a click of the follow button! Thanks so very much for your comment – it struck a chord with me today, as I’ve recently begun to post more than one photo in a blog and, in retrospect, have found it less rewarding to do so. Less is more (not all the time, of course), and to keep myself sane, I need to remember that 🙂 So glad to have you following along!

Hi Stacy, I’ve been invited to do a Visual Blog Tour which involves answering 4 questions about my creative process and introducing a couple of blogs that I like. Mine will come out on 11 August. I’d like to introduce your blog because I really enjoy it & would like to know what goes on behind it and was wondering if you’d be interested in the participating in the Visual Blog Tour. You’d have to write a post on your blog answering the same questions … say on 18 August, a week after mine, but we can be flexible on dates if you’re busy. If you agree – and I hope you do – I’ll pass on the questions and we’re off to the races ! ~Spotted Cow

Gosh, I’m not sure now how I discovered you. I have gone off on so many tangents this morning exploring various blogs and yours was a standout. Most likely through through Douglas’s (moorezart) reblogging site, I think.
Thankyou for the lovely compliment. 🙂

This is a wonderful blog Stacey. I love how you capture the moment in your pictures like the one of the WPC Streetlife. Hope to see more great pictures like that one 😉

Anja, thanks so much for visiting and for leaving a wonderful trail of “likes” on my posts! I have to admit I’m a bit timid about aiming my camera at strangers, but the streetlife photos are definitely among my favorite. Your comment has made me think that perhaps I will try some more of these types of scenes the next time I’m out shooting 🙂

Laura, I am so very honored not only by your comment but to have you as a follower as well. I have been enjoying your incredible photos since coming across Monochrome Madness (your lion is just absolutely breathtaking!) and am planning on spending a great deal of time delving into your blog!
As for my photo, I am just now working on a before and after post. I thought it would be fun to let others, especially non-photographers, see the process. I’m actually toying with the idea of making a weekly post: Before-and-After Friday. No fancy alliteration, but hey, at least there are some ”f’s” in before and after 🙂
I hope to have the post up a bit later tonight.
Again, many, many thanks.

This may be a duplicate comment because the one I tried earlier didn’t look like it worked. I really like how you framed the buildings along the walkway with the shadowed area from the walkway above. I would not have thought of doing that and like how it turned out. Thanks, to for stopping by my site earlier today and you great comment.
