On the Road (Again)

Running traveler Union Station DCUnion Station, Washington, D.C.

It’s been a busy travel time for me – two weeks ago I travelled to Los Angeles for five days, tomorrow I’ll be returning there for a few more, and a day after getting home from that trip, I’ll be heading to New York City for five days, one of my most favorite places to be!

In NYC, I’ll be participating in a two-day street photography workshop with a woman whose photography has captured my heart since I first became aware of her work about a year and a half ago – Valerie Jardin. She hosts workshops in Paris, Rome, New York City, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Vancouver, and more for small groups (usually about 10 people), and they quickly sell out. I happened to be online last year when she posted this one – I was so nervous it was going to close before I could enter my information! But the internet gods were with me, and now, in just a few days, I’ll be meeting her and soaking up everything she has to offer.

As if that isn’t enough, at the end of the workshop, I’ll be meeting up with a group of my fellow Monochromia photographers for the weekend! Such an incredibly talented and fun group of people,  I can’t wait to reconnect with those whom I’ve met before and to meet those who I haven’t. Can we say “pajama party” at the Hilton? 🙂

So here’s to fun times, friends (new and old), and lots and lots of photography!

  1. Pajama party? Which Hilton? When? Oh, it sounds so fun. A little too far from MN though ;-(
I love your photo, Stacy. I remember once I asked Emilio about texture. He told me if I studied your photos, I would understand. I have been doing so ever since 😉
I did work on Oct. OPF. I wanted to leave it on the side for a while and planned to go back to take another look, and then, I forgot about it ;-( I’ll try again later. Thanks for doing it.
    Enjoy your trip!

    • Wow, Helen, I really am, as the British say, gobsmacked by your (and Emilio’s) comment, and incredibly honored. Thank you so much for your kindness! As for OPF, how well I understand 🙂 In this past very busy year, it (and my Monochromia posts) have basically been my saving grace in keeping me blogging and staying (somewhat) connected to this fabulous WP blogging community. Saying that, it occurs to me I haven’t seen your recent work and must correct that. I will definitely come by for a visit! Thanks for your comment and I do hope all is well for you.

    • Hi, Pauline! Yup, no grass growing under my feet lately 🙂 It will be so much fun not only to spend time with everyone but to see all the different photographic viewpoints that will be shared! And it will definitely be a blast to reconnect with Laurie!
