A little fun for the dog days of summer. Thanks for inspiring this photo, Joe!

    I have been peeking around your visual venturing blog a bit tonight – ((the dog days of summer for me usually include some longer visits to a few blogs – as time permits))
    It is cool how your header changes with your photos. The variety (and of course quality) is great- but the diversity is fun- we get houses lined up with backdrop of a cityscape twinkle….to a photo of rich orange with palm tree silhouette – to a bridge with cool edits….
    I have been meaning to tell you how much I liked the changing header – 😉 (check!)
    However – the main reason I am leaving a comment right now is because I had to chime in on this particular photo!
    I read the comments and started looking for an iPhone – is the guy on left using an iPhone? I was not seeing it????🙃

    And when you said a possible name of the dualing photographers….yes….
    Well then it made other pairs pop out to me.
    And maybe I would call this photo “6 times 2”
    Because we have the two guys with cameras – in alternate positions – amazing capture – and that is one pair….
    Then we have the second pair — of Windows-

    those large windows nice and can’t put into words how my mind feels it, but it has a bit of top anchor for the layers of people below – the foreground al- mid and hen all those little people to the far back!
    and so there is something cool with scale going on here too….

    And then the four other pairs (to make the 6 times 2) are with the mid people woven between the dualing dudes.
    Two couples to the right – and to the left with have two gals and then two guys (far left) – and then a bit of diversity with the couples –
    oh
    And I also like the diversity in the dualing dude’s outfits – camo and calves vs. jeans – but then their arms are aligned in height, which gives a sense of balance –
    Fantastic photo – and it “was” a really nice “dog days of summer photo” – one that makes you wonder a bit too….

    • Yvette, I can’t believe I missed your amazing comment on this photo!! My apologies for not replying sooner – yikes 😦 I’m just blown away by how much you saw in this image – much more than I did when I shot it AND even when I processed it. I had to go back and look at everything you picked up on. Just made me smile and smile. It’s certainly a wonderful compliment to find out something I photographed engaged you so much! And thanks about the header – I sprung for the customization package way back when, and that’s what enables me to do that. It took me a while to figure it out, but it’s always a surprise to see what images pop up on any given page as they randomly rotate. Which reminds me, I should update those pictures.

      I barely remember July, but hard to believe it’s three weeks into August. Hope all’s well on your end. I actually will be sending you an email, so keep an eye out for that. Thanks, again, Yvette!

        no worries on replying – I go in waves of having time to comment – and I don’t always notice or need reply –
        well – once in a while I will leave the kind of comment that is the type that needs a reply -all that to say “no worries” –
        …..
        funny thing is that we just had a discussion about how success for creative artists is when they do their thing without a lot of thought -and then others expound – for example – an artist might choose red and green just for a mood that day – and then they add in designs or patterns on one side and here or there – and then later – someone will talk about the use of color (complements) and the use of space and maybe harmony in the composition – but the artist just did what they do…..

        and I see this in lhotography – folks adjust their settings and take the shot and know what they like — but some might not ever be able to articulate all of what they saw or felt – it is from their essence – and if they thought too much it would maybe pull from that!
        so maybe it takes a village to see different things….
        and not to write too long here – but another side note is that not “all” photographers want such feedback – or they do but then they don’t – blogging can be weird for the creative soul ….. ha! and too much commenting has a downside – so I do use wisdom – because things can be overdone or certain folks get annoyed more than others –
        also – the truth is that I really like your work – and I am sure other “fresh eyes”‘would see different things –

        • Hi, Yvette! Thanks so much for liking my work. As you say, different eyes see different things and we each have our own sensibilities as to what “moves” us to create an image or painting or sculpture in the first place. That truly is what makes the world go ’round! I learn so much from seeing how others perceive their worlds. It’s a global creative village, 100%!
