Weekly Photo Challenge: Containers

A row of mismatched rural mailboxes on posts and their shadows alongside a long two-lane road that winds into mountains in the distance.

Spotted these containers for mail while on the road somewhere in southwestern Wyoming, driving from Boulder, Colorado to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

  1. Really nicely done Stacy. I’ve been looking for some interesting mail boxes around here to take but just not in the perfect place. You found the perfect place 🙂

  2. So mystifying … where/what are the residences to which these forlorn containers belong? Evoked thoughts of baby birds clustered in a nest waiting to be fed. Perfect photo for B&W.

    • It was really strange, Debby, to see these and no “attached” houses. But there certainly weren’t a lot of houses to see anywhere in southern Wyoming – just thousands and thousands of acres of plateaus and scrub. So these mailboxes were a very welcome sight!
