Last fall took me to San Francisco (lucky me!). Getting up at the crack of dawn to make my way to Pier 33 and my trip to Alcatraz, I was rewarded with catching the sunrise through the archway to Pier 14, and as luck would have it, a lone silhouetted gentleman. The early bird and all that, you know … This photo (in color) is framed and hanging on my wall in my new apartment. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Wonderful light.

I really love your composition here! This angle has been taken so often but I like the inclusion of the dock area and how it’s silhouetted. Beautiful!!

I love how the lines draw your eye to different spots in the image. Well worth the early morning. And such a lovely calm view.

I just went to see your color version from November and I had liked it back then. Even commented on it. But for the life of me, I don’t remember any of that. I just know I prefer this b & w version. Or maybe it’s the color version I like better. OK, I’ll let you know.
