  1. Oh I love your subway shots… Fifth Avenue – Saks!!! that’s my first thought and the lovely blouse I bought there on sale. I know it should be about the photo which is as great and you have to wonder where that man has been and where he is going. Its pretty quiet there so what time of day is it. I like that I can look at your photo and think about it and also that it holds memories… like my lime blouse!! 🙂

    • Hi, Duncan. Thanks for your comment. Patience definitely paid off with this shot. I’ve just recently learned that the MTA police will give photographers a hard time about shooting in the stations. Glad I escaped that that night, as I found them to be filled with wonderful photographic opportunities.

      • We have the same on the London Underground, you have to request a permit to even think about getting your DSLR out the bag. Funny though that if you had a mobile phone, you can easily take a photo with very little hassle if any.

        • Hmmm, that’s good to know too, as sometimes I get the opportunity to travel to London. I don’t know if it’s always been this way or if it’s a post-9/ll thing. It’s too bad. A few of my favorite photos are ones I took in the NYC subways. I’m actually going up there this week and maybe I’ll give it a try with my small Fuji mirrorless – less conspicuous.

        • It seems the bigger the camera, the more they dislike you. If I were a terrorist, would I really draw attention to myself by using a large DSLR? No, I’d use my mobile. The World has gone mad I’m afraid.
