Coffee and Camera
I shot this photo while attending Parents’ Day at my daughter’s school. Taking her first digital photography class, Cate was given the assignment to “teach” me an aspect of photography she had learned in class. We opted to have me capture her in motion. As she spun, I snapped. This image expresses Cate perfectly at that point last fall – whirling through her days with Starbucks in one hand and camera in the other.
What a wonderful sense of fun and freedom you have captured in this great shot Stacy, not to mention the obvious bond you have with each other. Love it!

I was expecting a blurred image. Also thought she might have been younger, say 10 or so. A Preconception is my mind projecting past experience perhaps?

I did experiment with a slower shutter speed but ended up enjoying the faster to freeze her motion. As for the 10 years old, she gets that all the time simply because she’s so petite. Intel her she’ll appreciate it when she gets older 😉 She’s actually 18 😀

Wow, she’s 18? Never know it. Or maybe my age is too far along to distinguish a correct approximation. Thank you for your reply, I appreciate that.

Definitely difficult indeed! Do you have any graffiti or a musician perhaps? That’s where my mind finally went. 🙂

Oh, that just made me teary. I don’t mean that in a bad way though. It’s a lovely thought. Teary probably because she’ll be off to college in September … 😥

Hi, Shane!! Thanks, and so absolutely true. Just like the moment you capture of your son on cross country skis. Did I ever comment on that? I have to go check to make sure! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
