More shots of the Golden Gate Bridge for my San Francisco collection from my October photography tour of this amazing city. While I managed to get some star effects, I would have gotten more had I closed down my aperture. F/16 is usually a good bet.
From Golden Gate Overlook at Battery Spencer, north across the bridge.

Thanks to Ed for inspiring me to finish and post these photos! Check out Ed’s Sunday Stills for more night shots.
I must tell you….I’ve had a crazy travel weekend and keep trying to find time to comment on these awesome pictures. I could look at them all day. Each one has something unique yet they are all the same. I love the coloring and the city in the background adds a different dimension. amazing!

Awww, thanks, Tree! Being able to shoot my favorite bridge, yet alone from this different vantage points, was really a dream come true. Each hill I crested to be met by these phenomenal views was indescribable. I’m so glad you found the photos so compelling. Thanks for your very kind (and uplifting!) comment 🙂

Beautiful photos! When we visited San Francisco several years ago, we only saw the bridge in daylight. It didn’t occur to me to go back at night… I’m sorry we missed that.

The Golden Gate captures my fancy no matter the time of day, but nighttime is just glorious. You’ll just have to make it a point to go back 🙂

Stunning! I used to prefer photos of the Bridge in fog, but yours in a clear day are just as good!

Thanks for that, Jeremy! I’ve seen some spectacular shots of the foggy bridge and was actually hoping to have that happen. It did, but I wasn’t at a place to capture it at all well when it happened. But the whole bridge literally disappeared! Amazing.

Wow wow wow. Stacy you know how I love my bridges, that’s how we met. I actually made a noise when I saw these pictures just now. I want to go there with you and see how you do this. Just breathtaking.

Well come on over, you frequent flyer you 🙂 We could do a bridge tour! Really, it’s all about the tripod and then tweaking your settings (starting with f/16 to get those beautiful star effects). Of course, location, location, location, as the saying goes, provides the vistas. And those I came by only with the help of a professional guide! Thanks, Desley. The thought of shooting bridges with you just makes me smile 😃
